Now, Volkswagen is bringing the beloved Microbus back into the 21st century with the ID. Buzz GTX, an all-electric minivan that combines classic design cues with modern technology and performance.
A Buzz for Every Need
The ID. Buzz GTX offers versatility for a variety of lifestyles. It comes in two wheelbase lengths: a standard wheelbase of 117.9 inches and a long wheelbase of 126 inches. The standard wheelbase model offers 1,121 liters of cargo space behind the rear seats, while the long wheelbase model boasts an impressive 2,469 liters of cargo space. Both configurations offer all-wheel drive as standard, providing capability in all weather conditions. With multiple seating configurations (five, six, or seven seats), the ID. Buzz GTX can comfortably transport a family or a group of friends or even be used for commercial purposes. The maximum towing capacity is 1,800 kg for the standard wheelbase version and 1,600 kg for the long wheelbase version.
Power and Performance
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz GTX boasts a powerful electric motor that delivers responsive acceleration and a top speed of 100 mph. This electric powertrain also translates to zero emissions, making the ID. Buzz GTX an environmentally friendly choice. While exact specifications for the U.S. market have not been announced, it is expected to come with a 335-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a large battery pack offering extended range. The batteries can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in 26 minutes at DC fast-charging stations with up to 185 kW or 200 kW.
