New Volkswagen ID.3: Improved design and state-of-the-art technology for a customer-friendly electric car

Volkswagen ID.3

The world is moving towards sustainable mobility, and Volkswagen is taking a giant leap towards it with the second generation of the ID.3. The electric car platform, MEB, has already seen over 600,000 deliveries worldwide, with the ID.3 being the first of the six different models under the ID. family. This bestseller is now upgraded with improved quality, design, and sustainability, becoming even more sympathetic and digital than before. In this article, we will explore the refined exterior and interior design, the latest generation of assistance systems, and sustainable materials used in the new Volkswagen ID.3.

Sharper Exterior: Improved Aerodynamics and Striking Details

Thanks to its refined exterior design, the Volkswagen ID.3 has an independent, confident, and friendly appearance. The optimized air cooling openings and large painted surfaces make it appear even more striking. The bumper has a new design, with the black strip below the windscreen removed, making the bonnet look longer. The sides have recessed parts that create an additional visual impression of an extension. The aerodynamics have also been optimized through improved airflow around the front wheels. The taillights in the tailgate are now two-part, shining for the first time, making the car look even more eye-catching.

Higher Added Value: Sustainable Improvements to the Interior

The interior of the Volkswagen ID.3 has received sustainable and quality improvements, providing greater added value. Many suggestions from customers have been implemented to improve product value and standard equipment. Soft, foam-coated surfaces in the passenger compartment and the doors' softer and larger surfaces are some examples of improved material quality. The armrests in the doors have a clearer design and are more generous. Volkswagen has greatly highlighted durability, with the equipment in the interior manufactured without animal elements as standard. Recycled materials are used extensively in the new ID.3, such as the microfiber material Artvelours Eco, which is 71% recycled plastic waste.

Full Connectivity: The Latest Generation of Assistance Systems

The Volkswagen ID.3 offers first-class technologies and innovations in the compact class. The latest software comes with all comfort and assistance systems, making it intuitive, useful, and customer-friendly. The car features a Route planner for electric cars, Plug & Charge, Head-up Display with augmented reality, and intelligent driver assistance systems such as Travel Assist with cloud data, making driving and charging even more comfortable and convenient.

The sales start is expected to occur during the second quarter of 2023, and the actual launch is planned for the summer. However, prices have yet to be determined.
