There are a lot of AGR-certified ergonomic seats available from Opel. AGR stands for "Aktion Gesunder Rücken," an independent German association of posture experts. These seats are a crucial part of the German company's customer-centered approach to mobility. Customers can already order AGR ergonomic seats on the new Opel Astra, Opel Crossland, and Opel Grandland. But Opel never stops improving its seats, and the next step will soon be available in brand-new sports seats that will be available only on the Opel Astra GSe and Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe. These seats will be certified by AGR.
At Opel, a car's seats must be comfortable and support the traveler's back during the trip and especially over long distances. It's not surprising, then, that the innovative German brand, which is 160 years old this year, was the first to offer seats that were especially good for your back in the midsize segment in 2003, with the Opel Signum getting the first seal of approval from AGR's ergonomics experts.
The new GSe sports seats are Opel's most recent innovation in seat technology. The elegant side bolsters make the front seats of the Opel Astra GSe and Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe stand out. The seats are covered in black Alcantara. The headrests are fully built into the structure, and the gray stripe on the backrest is electro-welded. This high-precision technique has never been used on a production car before. The Opel GSe models are also the only ones with a stitched pattern at the backrest and seat, and the GSe logo, which is yellow on black, stands out on the backrest.
Opel already has a lot of AGR seats that come in comfortable and sportier styles. AGR seats have ten adjustments on the driver's side and six on the front passenger's side. This lets the driver, and front passenger find a comfortable, back-correct position for each trip. No matter what kind of seat it is, the driver's seat has a lot of adjustable parameters, many of which are electric. These include longitudinal travel, height, tilt, backrest angle, thigh support, lumbar support, seat angle, and heating for the winter.
Depending on the model, a ventilation system can be added to the AGR driver's seats to make them even more comfortable. Also, the memory function is beneficial when more than one person drives on a long trip.
With AGR-certified seats, Opel drivers can always get the comfort and support they want, regardless of the trip or length.
