The Swedish maker of high-end electric performance vehicles known as Polestar has acquired eight new partners for the Polestar 0 project. The year 2030 has been set as the target for the completion of this project. Vitesco Technologies, Schlotter, Autoneum, Stora Enso, TMG Automotive, Granges, Borgstena, and Stena Aluminium are some new companies that have come on board as partners for this project. The companies come from various countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Finland, and Sweden. They specialize in electrical inverters, electroplating, interior and exterior materials, renewable solutions for packaging, biomaterials and wood construction, coating and textiles, flat-rolled aluminum and knitted and woven materials, and recycled aluminum.
Vitesco, a provider of drive and power transmission technology for the automobile industry, and Schlotter, an expert in electroplating, are two new partners hailing from Germany. Vitesco is a provider, and Schlotter is an expert. Schlotter has more than a century's worth of experience in the research and development of electrolytes for galvanic coating and the system technology necessary for their application.
In 2021, the Polestar 0 project was initiated based on the notion that the automotive industry required a fresh start from the ground up. Although the transition to electric vehicles is removing emissions from tailpipes, Polestar also believes that there is an urgent need to address emissions resulting from production. The ambitious objective of the Polestar 0 project is to get rid of all of the CO2 sources involved in the supply chain. It does not rely on deceptive compensation programs at any stage of the process, from the extraction of raw materials through the fabrication of materials and vehicles to distribution and end-of-life.
