Peugeot has always been at the forefront of innovation in the automotive industry, and the latest addition to their lineup, the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, further cements this reputation. Both models now come with the latest 48V hybrid technology, providing more efficiency, user-friendliness, and environmental friendliness.
The new hybrid technology consists of a new generation 1.2 liter PureTech petrol engine with 100 kW (136 hp) and a new electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 48-volt battery is charged while driving, offering additional torque at low revs and reducing fuel consumption by up to 15 percent. This technology also enables starting, maneuvering, and low-speed driving in heavy traffic in all-electric mode, providing a more eco-friendly and cost-effective driving experience.
The Peugeot i-Cockpit provides information on how the hybrid system works, with the digital instrument cluster displaying 100% electric driving, as well as the energy flow in the system, battery charge level, operating status via a power meter, and the percentage of distance traveled in electric mode at any given time or date end of the ride.
The Peugeot 3008 with the 48V hybrid system in the Active Pack equipment variant is already available for $42,202. In comparison, the Peugeot 5008, with the latest hybrid technology, starts with the equipment variant Active Pack with a price of $45,827.
Peugeot Germany's Managing Director, Haico van der Luyt, expressed his excitement about the latest hybrid technology being used in their existing models. According to him, "Power of Choice" is the motto behind Peugeot's constant efforts to equip their model range with alternative drives.
