The Stellantis Student Awards finished their first global program by giving money prizes to more than 600 children of Stellantis employees in five regions for their efforts to keep learning and improve at school. On December 2, the first global online ceremony was held to mark the occasion. Stellantis President John Elkann and CEO Carlos Tavares were both there.
John Elkann, President of Stellantis, said, "The Student Awards are a great chance to honor our smart students' achievements with their families help and to celebrate the first award program like Stellantis." "We are committed to building a responsible, diverse, and innovative company in the field of mobility technologies, so we are very proud of this program, which is now in its 26th year and involves 20 countries around the world."
Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, said, "It is essential for the planet and the future to leave the next generation with well-established net-zero carbon companies that care about the well-being of all." "This is what the Stellantis Student Awards do for our young leaders. It makes them curious and gives them tools to help build a better future. At the same time, their parents and other Stellantis employees work on services and products that will give people freedom of movement while being kind to the environment."
"It's been an honor to meet so many inspiring young leaders," said Xavier Chéreau, Chief Human Resources and Transformation Officer at Stellantis. "Diversity and a commitment to the future go hand in hand, and they are two of the most important parts of Stellantis's mission and values. This is made possible by programs like the Stellantis Student Awards, which show how learning throughout life is important and helps make a sustainable future for everyone."
For 26 years, more than 14,000 students have had their all-around skills recognized. They have shown that they can think beyond their studies and make a difference in their communities.
As a new part of the program, a candidate from each region was chosen to receive the Sergio Marchionne Award of Excellence. This award is for young, brave leaders who use their knowledge and skills to help the common good.
The Stellantis Student Awards began in 1996 as a regional program in Italy called a Fiat Scholarship. In 2019, they renamed the Sergio Marchionne Student Achievement Awards.
The Stellantis Student Awards, now a global program in five regions and 20 countries, still have the same spirit of working together to make a sustainable future for everyone.
