Lexus has just introduced its newest and largest SUV, the 2024 Lexus TX, a three-row luxury crossover that aims to offer more space, comfort, and technology than ever before. The Lexus TX is based on the same platform as the popular Lexus RX but with a longer wheelbase, a more spacious cabin, and a third row of seats. The TX also features a new design language, a hybrid powertrain option, and a host of advanced safety and convenience features. Is this the ultimate Lexus SUV? Let’s find out.
What Is the 2024 Lexus TX?
The 2024 Lexus TX is a three-row luxury SUV that competes with the likes of the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Volvo XC90. The TX is the first Lexus SUV to offer a third row of seats, which can accommodate up to seven passengers. The TX is also the first Lexus SUV to adopt the new L-finesse design language, which emphasizes elegance, dynamism, and sophistication.
The Lexus TX is available in two trim levels: the TX 350 and the TX 450h. The TX 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 290 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The TX 450h is a hybrid model that combines the same V6 engine with two electric motors, one on each axle, for a total output of 308 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. The TX 450h has a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and standard all-wheel drive.
The Lexus TX has a sleek and muscular body that reflects its premium and sporty character. It has a large spindle grille, slim LED headlights and taillights, chrome accents, and 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels. It also has a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, power tailgate, and dual exhaust tips.
The interior of the TX is spacious and luxurious, with high-quality materials and craftsmanship. It has leather seats, wood trim, ambient lighting, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and wireless charging. It also has a 12-speaker sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seats, and a head-up display.
