Stellantis has just released its fiscal year 2022 results. Among the protagonists of this new period, the Fiat brand has demonstrated outstanding global leadership. "Fiat has once again confirmed its global success, contributing significantly to the Group's earnings," says Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and CMO Global of Stellantis.
Fiat is the leading Stellantis brand in terms of volume, with over 1.2 million units registered in 2022, comprising Fiat, Abarth, and Fiat Professional vehicles. We are absolute market leaders in Brazil, Italy, and Turkey, and we are accelerating our transition to a more sustainable future with the Fiat 500 electric car, which has sold nearly 120,000 units since its launch at the end of 2022. Additionally, thanks to the synergies inherent in the Stellantis Group, Fiat will continue to offer socially relevant solutions in 2023, introducing four new products".
Fiat has traditionally been the market leader in the city car segment in Europe. In particular, in light of the increased focus on environmental issues, the Fiat 500e - Fiat's electric icon - registered over 66,000 vehicles last year, out of 120,000 units sold internationally since its inception. Because of its great success, it is the best-selling electric car in Italy, second in Spain and third in Germany. Furthermore, it is the Stellantis Group's best-selling electric car and the third best-selling BEV in the top ten European markets. The performance of the Fiat 500e and Fiat Panda in the city car class should also be recognized. The two icons achieved a market share of 43.8% throughout the year, maintaining Fiat's European leadership. Finally, there is the brand.
