The Fiat 500 electric car has become a global symbol of the Italian Dolce Vita. It was the ideal partner for the flash mob "Buongiorno, Dolce Vita," which was organized by the Italian record label CAM Sugar with the support of the SIAE (Società Italiana degli Autori ed Publishers) and the patronage of the Rome Film Fest.
The musicians of the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra, the stars of the flash mob "Buongiorno, Dolce Vita" in honor of maestro Nino Rota's legendary score, arrived at the event at the wheel of the Fiat 500 electric car. Thirteen people dressed in tails. They were carrying bags of varied sorts as they made their way to the Trevi Fountain. When they arrived in the famed Piazza, they got out their instruments and performed "La Dolce Vita" in front of a crowd of enthusiastic and amazed onlookers. The Italian Dolce Vita is relived in Rome: a one-of-a-kind and spectacular experience that only the Fiat 500 electric car can provide.
In all its magnificence, the Fiat 500 electric car is the quintessential model of the Italian Dolcevita. The connection between the Fiat 500 and the melody is strong. The original song, recorded for Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, was rediscovered by Fiat in the CAM Sugar archive and used as the soundtrack for the commercial "The Driver," starring Oscar winner and environmental activist Leonardo Di Caprio. The same archive houses treasures from movie history, such as the soundtrack of Amarcord by maestro Nino Rota, which was previously utilized for the Fiat 500's AVAS.
The occasion also marked the 60th anniversary of Fellini's Oscar-winning performance in the category of best costumes. For the event, CAM Sugar reissues the remastered disc in double vinyl and digitally for the first time, with the collaboration of Nino Rota and Federico Fellini's heirs.
