Alfa Romeo Giulia Wins All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2023 Award

Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia has been named the All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2023 by a panel of experts from Auto Bild Allrad, Europe's leading all-wheel-drive magazine. The award recognizes Giulia's outstanding performance, design, and technology, which make it one of the most desirable and dynamic vehicles in its segment.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is equipped with the Q4 all-wheel drive system, which delivers optimal traction and stability in all road conditions. The system continuously monitors the road surface and the driver's inputs and distributes torque between the front and rear axles according to the driving mode and situation.

The Q4 system also enhances Giulia's agility and responsiveness thanks to the Active Transfer Case (ATC), which can transfer up to 50% of torque to the front axle in just 150 milliseconds. The ATC is integrated with the Chassis Domain Control (CDC), which coordinates all the vehicle's active systems, such as the suspension, steering, brakes, and stability control.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia also offers a range of powerful and efficient engines, including the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque and the 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth and quick shifts.

The Giulia's design is unmistakably Alfa Romeo, combining elegance and sportiness in a balanced and harmonious way. The Giulia features the iconic trilobite grille, the muscular hood, the sculpted sides, and the short overhangs that express its dynamic character. The Giulia also boasts a best-in-class drag coefficient of 0.25, which improves its aerodynamics and efficiency.

The Giulia's interior is equally refined and sophisticated, with a driver-centric cockpit that offers a perfect blend of comfort and functionality. The Alfa Romeo Giulia features high-quality materials, such as leather, wood, and aluminum, as well as state-of-the-art technology, such as the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the 7-inch digital instrument cluster, the wireless charging pad, and the Harman Kardon premium sound system.

The Giulia also provides high safety and security thanks to its comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and rear cross path detection.

The All-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2023 award is not the first award that the Alfa Romeo Giulia has received since its launch in 2016. The Giulia has also won over 170 international awards, including the prestigious Car of the Year 2017 by Motor Trend.

The award also confirms Alfa Romeo's leadership in the all-wheel drive segment, which dates back to 1983, when it introduced the first permanent all-wheel drive system for passenger cars on the Alfa Romeo 33.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is available in four trim levels: Sprint, Ti, Ti Sport, and Quadrifoglio. The starting price for the Sprint model with Q4 all-wheel drive is $42,400.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a great choice for drivers who are looking for a premium sedan that offers exceptional performance, style, and technology. The Giulia is also a great choice for drivers who care about sustainability and environmental protection, as it is one of the most efficient and eco-friendly vehicles in its class.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is an all-wheel drive car of the year and an all-around car of excellence.
